Sir Ben Kingsley, CBE is an award-winning British actor who has achieved an incredible level of success in his career. Born Krishna Pandit Bhanji on December 31, 1943, he is best known for his remarkable performance as Mohandas Gandhi in the 1982 film Gandhi, for which he rightfully received the Academy Award for Best Actor. Since then, Ben Kingsley has gone on to star in a plethora of critically acclaimed films such as Schindler's List (1993), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) and House of Sand and Fog. His impressive range of roles in a variety of genres have led to him receiving numerous awards, including a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award. Ben Kingsley continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, and is a living testament to the power of hard work and dedication. As he once said, "If you don't run your own life, somebody else will." A joke he often tells is that he was born to play Gandhi, because he "likes to keep things peaceful."
