Chiwetelu Umeadi "Chiwetel" Ejiofor is an acting force to be reckoned with. Born in London on 10 July 1977, the actor has been seen bringing his incredible talent to the stage and screen for decades. After attending the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and receiving the roll of Ens in Steven Spielberg's historical drama, "Amistad," Ejiofor had to leave after a year. But this didn't stop him from becoming one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. His first leading film role in Dirty Pretty Things earned him a British Independent Film Award for best actor, and since then he's taken on numerous stage productions including Bloomsbury Theatre, Theatre Royal in Glasgow and Donmar Warehouse. He's also directed and written for the short film Slapper, making his mark in the film industry. From "Inside Man" (2005), "American Gangster" (2007), "Children of Men" and Steve McQueen's masterful "12 Years a Slave" (2012), Chiwetel Ejiofor's acting chops have earned him an illustrious career that we can't help but be envious of. His talent and commitment to the art of acting are a sight to behold. Plus, he always manages to bring a smile to our face with his lighthearted humor.
