Donald McKinley Glover Jr., also known as the one and only Childish Gambino, is an entertainer like no other. He’s an actor, rapper, singer, writer, comedian, director, and producer all rolled into one – and he’s only 36 years old. After graduating from New York University, Glover was hired at a mere age of 23 by Tina Fey to write for the beloved NBC sitcom 30 Rock. He then gained recognition for playing the lovable college student Troy Barnes on the hit show Community, which ran from 2009 to 2014. Not only is Glover an actor and comedian, but he’s also a critically acclaimed filmmaker. He created, wrote, and starred in the Emmy-winning television series Atlanta, which premiered in 2016. For his work on the show, Glover was awarded two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. He even had a hand in producing the short film Guava Island in 2019! In the movie realm, Glover has starred in some of the biggest box office successes in recent years. Audiences across the globe were enthralled with his performances in supernatural horror The Lazarus Effect, the comedy-drama Magic Mike XXL, the science fiction film The Martian, the superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming and the blockbuster hit Solo: A Star Wars Story. Most recently, Glover lent his voice to the iconic character of adult Simba in the live-action remake of The Lion King. Whenever Glover takes the stage, whether it’s for acting, directing, or performing, he always knows how to keep the crowd entertained.
