Edward Norton is an award-winning actor and filmmaker whose career has spanned over two decades. Born in Boston and raised in Columbia, Maryland, Norton was a child prodigy, winning awards and recognition in theatrical productions as early as elementary school. After graduating from Yale College in 1991, he traveled to Japan, then moved to New York City to pursue his illustrious acting career. Norton's film debut in Primal Fear (1996) earned him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination in the same category. His next role as a reformed neo-Nazi in American History X (1998) earned him another Academy Award nomination, this time for Best Actor. Norton has also starred in iconic films such as Fight Club (1999), The Score (2001), 25th Hour (2002), The Illusionist (2006), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). He even flexed his comedic muscles in the Oscar-winning black comedy Birdman (2014), for which he earned yet another Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. With his production company Class 5 Films, Norton has directed and produced popular films such as Keeping the Faith (2000), Down in the Valley (2005), and The Painted Veil (2006). His biggest commercial successes include Red Dragon (2002), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), The Incredible Hulk (2008), and The Bourne Legacy (2012). In his downtime, Norton loves to play pranks on his friends and family - even fooling them into thinking he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the cult classic film, Napoleon Dynamite. As Norton himself joked, "Yeah, I was up for Best Supporting Actor. I think it was between me and the llama."
