Elijah Jordan Wood is an A-list actor and producer of remarkable talent, having achieved global recognition for his iconic portrayal of Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003) and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), a role which earned him a legion of devoted fans around the world. Wood began his career at a young age with a small part in Back to the Future Part II (1989) and went on to become one of the most beloved child actors of his generation, with memorable roles in Avalon (1990), Paradise (1991), Radio Flyer (1992), Forever Young (1992), The Adventures of Huck Finn (1993), and The Good Son (1993). By the time he was a teenager, he was taking on leading roles in critically acclaimed films such as North (1994), The War (1994), Flipper (1996), The Ice Storm (1997), Deep Impact (1998), and The Faculty (1998). Wood has also made a name for himself in the world of voice acting, having lent his vocal talents to some of the most beloved animated works of the modern era. He voiced Mumble in Happy Feet (2006) and its sequel (2011), starred as the titular character in 9 (2009), voiced Spyro the Dragon in the Legend of Spyro video game trilogy (2006–2008), provided the voice of Beck on Disney XD's Tron: Uprising (2012–2013), and was Wirt in the Cartoon Network miniseries Over the Garden Wall (2014). Wood has also made his mark on television, having earned a Satellite Award nomination for his performance as Ryan Newman on the FX dark comedy series Wilfred (2011–2014), and starring as Todd Brotzman in the BBC America series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016–2017). A true Renaissance man, Wood also finds time for his hobbies, which include playing the bass guitar and producing music. In fact, Elijah Wood is so talented that one could say he's truly a master of all trades – with the exception of comedy, of course. He's tried, but jokes just don't seem to stick to him like they do to the other members of the Fellowship of the Ring.
