Geena Davis
Geena Davis is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood, having starred in some of the most critically acclaimed and box office successes in history. She has won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Accidental Tourist, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama for her role in Commander in Chief.
Born in 1956 in Virginia, Davis began her modeling career at the age of 16, and soon became a popular figure in the fashion industry. After making her film debut in the low-budget thriller The Fly (1986), Davis quickly rose to fame with her roles in the cult classics Beetlejuice (1988) and Thelma & Louise (1991), both of which received critical acclaim. Her other acclaimed films include A League of Their Own (1992), What Women Want (2000), and The Accidental Tourist (2004), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Davis has also ventured into television, starring in the critically acclaimed series The West Wing (1999-2006) and its successor, The West Wing: The Complete Series (2006).
In 2005, Davis was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She currently stars in the TNT series Murder in the First and is set to appear in the upcoming film adaptation of the novel The Dark Tower.
