George Clooney is a multifaceted powerhouse, having achieved great success as an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Not only has he won three Golden Globe Awards and two Academy Awards, but he is also an acclaimed political activist who has served as a United Nations Messenger of Peace since 2008. Clooney hails from Lexington, Kentucky, and is the son of renowned TV news anchor Nick Clooney. At the tender age of five, George was already being invited into the studios with his father and was exposed to the fascinating world of television. However, in an effort to carve his own path, he chose to abandon his dreams of becoming a broadcast journalist and set his sights on the world of acting. After his cousin, Miguel Ferrer, helped him secure a small part in a feature film, George moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and spent the next year pursuing his dreams while living in the closet of a friend's apartment. Despite the struggle, he eventually landed his first movie role alongside Charlie Sheen and never looked back. George Clooney is the epitome of the American success story - and he’s certainly not afraid of making a joke or two!
