Helena Bonham Carter
Helena Bonham Carter CBE is nothing short of a Hollywood legend. With a portfolio of both independent films and blockbuster hits, her performance as Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View (1985) and Lady Jane (1986) skyrocketed her to fame. She has since received countless awards and accolades, including two Academy Award nominations, nine Golden Globe nominations and five Primetime Emmy Award nods.
But it doesn't stop there. Her eccentric fashion, dark aesthetic and quirky roles in films like Hamlet (1990), Howards End (1992), Fight Club (1999), and the Harry Potter series (2007–2011) have cemented her as a beloved star. Not to mention her collaborations with director Tim Burton - Big Fish (2003), Corpse Bride (2005), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010), and Dark Shadows (2012) - which provided audiences with a wealth of entertainment!
Her performance in The King's Speech (2010) earned her a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and for her role as children's author Enid Blyton in the BBC Four biographical film Enid (2009), she won the 2010 International Emmy Award for Best Actress.
In addition to her many film roles, Helena Bonham Carter also portrayed Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon in seasons three and four of Netflix's The Crown (2019-2020).
If there's one thing we can say about Helena Bonham Carter, it's that she never fails to add a bit of sparkle to the screen - whether it's a magical sparkle or a bit of mischief. After all, as she once quipped, "I'm a dame of mischief, not a dame of mystery!"
