Jamie Lee Curtis
Jamie Lee Curtis is a legendary actress, writer, and philanthropist who has captivated audiences for four decades with her dynamism and talent. Born on November 22nd, 1958, she is the daughter of legendary Hollywood stars Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.
Having made her debut in the horror classic Halloween (1978), Curtis immediately established herself as a scream queen and icon of the genre, appearing in a string of horror films including The Fog, Prom Night, Terror Train, and Roadgames. She has reprised her role as Laurie Strode in a total of seven Halloween movies, including the most recent 2018 release and the upcoming 2022 film Halloween Ends.
In addition to her horror roles, Curtis has also had great success in the comedy and action genres, starring in films like Trading Places (1983), for which she won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress, A Fish Called Wanda (1988), for which she was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actress, True Lies (1994), in which she won a Golden Globe, American Comedy Award, and a Saturn Award, and 2019's Knives Out. She also starred in the ABC sitcom Anything But Love (1989-1992), for which she won a Golden Globe and People's Choice Award, and the Fox horror comedy series Scream Queens (2015-2016), for which she earned her seventh Golden Globe Award nomination.
In addition to her acting career, Curtis is also an author and philanthropist. She has written numerous children's books, with her 1998 release Today I Feel Silly, and Other Moods That Make My Day making The New York Times's best-seller list. She is also a frequent blogger for The Huffington Post and a dedicated advocate for children's rights and the environment.
On top of all that, Curtis is a baroness due to her marriage to British noble Christopher Guest, with whom she has two adopted children, Annie and Ruby. As she jokes, she's the only baroness who makes horror movies!
