Jared Leto

Jared Joseph Leto is an award-winning actor, musician and cultural icon. Born on December 26, 1971, Leto made his mark on the entertainment industry with his sensational performances in some of the most critically acclaimed films of all time. Leto's career in television began in the early 1990s, where he gained recognition for his role as the lovable Jordan Catalano on the series My So-Called Life. But it was his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt that cemented him as a force to be reckoned with. Leto's acting prowess was further recognized in his performances in Prefontaine, The Thin Red Line, Fight Club, Girl, Interrupted, American Psycho and Urban Legend. He also earned critical acclaim for his portrayal of a heroin addict in Requiem for a Dream. But it was his leading role in the 2013 film Dallas Buyers Club that solidified his place in the entertainment industry, earning him an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor. Leto didn't stop there. He continued to dazzle critics and audiences alike with performances in Panic Room, Alexander, Lord of War, Lonely Hearts, Chapter 27, and Mr. Nobody. In 2016, Leto starred in the highly successful Suicide Squad and in 2017, he starred in Blade Runner 2049. His latest roles in 2021's The Little Things and House of Gucci have earned him nominations for a Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor. As if Leto's acting career wasn't impressive enough, he is also the lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and main songwriter for the popular rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars. After the release of their debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars, Leto and his older brother Shannon Leto achieved worldwide fame with the release of the follow-up album A Beautiful Lie. Their subsequent albums, This Is War, Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams, and America, have all been met with critical success. Leto is known for his method acting and often remains completely in character for the duration of shooting schedules. He's also known for being quite selective with the roles he takes on. On top of that, he's a true jokester and never takes himself too seriously. As he once said, "I'm always the class clown, so I use my humor to make people laugh and hopefully make their day a little brighter."
