Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Anne Garner is an American actress and activist who has made an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Garner studied theater at Denison University and began acting as an understudy for the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City. Garner's big break came when she landed the role of CIA officer Sydney Bristow in the ABC spy-action thriller television series Alias (2001β2006). Garner's remarkable performance earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress β Television Series Drama and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama, in addition to four consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Garner went on to star in a number of popular films, including the romantic comedy 13 Going on 30 (2004), the superhero films Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005), the fantasy-comedy The Invention of Lying (2009), the fantasy drama The Odd Life of Timothy Green (2012), and the biographical drama Dallas Buyers Club (2013). Garner also starred in the family comedies Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014) and Yes Day (2021), the drama Miracles from Heaven (2016), the romantic comedy-drama Love, Simon (2018), the HBO comedy series Camping (2018), and the action thriller Peppermint (2018).
Garner has also ventured into producing, having produced the comedy Butter (2011) and the family adventure Yes Day (2021). She is also an advocate for early childhood education, having served on the board of Save the Children USA and as the co-founder and chief brand officer of the organic baby food company Once Upon a Farm.
When asked about her success and all she's accomplished, Garner always manages to keep a sense of humor. As she famously quipped, βSuccess is like a straitjacket. It may feel comfortable, but it constrains your movement.β
