Joseph Leonard Gordon-Levitt is truly a Hollywood force to be reckoned with! The highly-acclaimed actor and filmmaker is no stranger to success, having earned a plethora of prestigious awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his leading performances in 500 Days of Summer (2009) and 50/50 (2011). His incredibly popular online media platform, HitRecord, has also won him two Primetime Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Interactive Program. The Los Angeles-native first found his footing in the industry as a child, appearing in films such as A River Runs Through It (1992), Holy Matrimony (1994), and Angels in the Outfield (1994). His success in these films earned him a Young Artist Award and a Saturn Award nomination. He even had the opportunity to star in the hit TV series 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001), for which he received three Screen Actors Guild Award nominations! After taking a brief break from acting to focus on his studies at Columbia University, Gordon-Levitt returned to the screen with a vengeance. He's been seen in a variety of films, including Manic (2001), Mysterious Skin (2004), Brick (2005), The Lookout (2007), The Brothers Bloom (2008), Miracle at St. Anna (2008), G.I. He even starred as Philippe Petit in the Robert Zemeckis-directed film The Walk (2015) and played Edward Snowden in the Oliver Stone film Snowden (2016). Most recently, he starred in the 2020 legal drama The Trial of the Chicago 7, for which he won the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Acting Ensemble and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Not only is Gordon-Levitt the star of some of Hollywood's biggest films and TV shows, but he's also an intelligent and creative artist behind the scenes. He wrote and directed the comedy-drama film Don Jon (2013), which was met with critical acclaim, earning him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay. He's also written, directed, and edited two short films, Morgan M. Morgansen's Date with Destiny (2010) and Morgan and Destiny's Eleventeenth Date: The Zeppelin Zoo (2010). In 2021, he continued to showcase his talents on the small screen, writing, directing, and starring in the comedy-drama series Mr. Corman on Apple TV+.
