Kate Ashfield
Kate Ashfield is an actress known for her award-winning roles as Jody in the Anglo-German film Late Night Shopping, as Sadie MacGregor in the British film This Little Life, and as Liz in the 2004 film Shaun of the Dead. Kate has had a long and successful career in film and television. Her most recent role is as the lead in the new psychological thriller series The Fall. Born in 1972 in London, Kate Ashfield began her career performing in theatre productions in her hometown. After making her film debut in the 1998 feature film The Baby Who Cried Wolf, she went on to appear in a number of critically acclaimed British films, including Late Night Shopping (1999), This Little Life (2002), and Shaun of the Dead (2004). In 2007, she starred in the BBC drama series The Hour, for which she won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress. In 2010, she starred in the independent film Eye in the Sky, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress. In 2013, she starred in the psychological thriller series Bodyguard, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama. In 2018, she starred in the drama series Killing Eve, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress. Kate is currently starring in the new psychological thriller series The Fall, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama.
