Ke Huy Quan is a Vietnamese-American actor with a remarkable resume. His career began in the 1980s when he starred as the iconic Sidekick Short Round in Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Since then, he has had roles in popular films such as The Goonies and Encino Man, and had a cameo in the 2002 Chinese movie Second Time Around alongside Ekin Cheng and Cecilia Cheung. His latest project, Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), has earned him rave reviews as Waymond Wang. He also has an impressive list of stunt credits, having worked as a stunt choreographer for X-Men and The One. It's no wonder, considering his background in martial arts. Quan became fluent in Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and English by the time he was 12, and he trained in Taekwondo under Philip Tan on the set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He later trained under Tao-liang Tan, and worked as the assistant of renowned Hong Kong fight choreographer Corey Yuen. It's no wonder that his stage name is 'Quan' - which is short for 'Kungfu'! But don't let his impressive martial arts skills fool you - he is just as comfortable in a classroom! Ke Huy Quan attended Mount Gleason Jr. High in Tujunga California, Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California, and the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. He also attended the University of Manchester in the UK. So if you're looking for an actor with a wealth of experience, a powerful presence, and a knack for martial arts, Ke Huy Quan is your man. And if you need a laugh, don't forget his stage name - it's Quan with a 'K'!
