Keegan-Michael Key is an American actor and comedian living large in the spotlight due to his six seasons as a cast member on the hit series MADtv and his Emmy-nominated Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele. But is that all there is to the story of this larger-than-life character? Key was born in Southfield, Michigan, raised in Detroit and adopted as a child. His father is African-American while his mother is European-American, giving him a unique blend of cultures. After graduating from Shrine Catholic High School in Royal Oak, Michigan, Key attended the University of Detroit and went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts at the Pennsylvania State University School of Theatre. He was also a brother of Phi Kappa Theta. Nowadays, Key is a household name, using his larger-than-life status to bring laughter and joy to audiences around the world.
