Keira Christina Knightley is an absolute powerhouse of an actress who has graced the silver screen with her formidable talent for over two decades. This two-time Empire Award winner has been nominated for two Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and one Laurence Olivier Award. On top of that, she was even appointed an OBE in the 2018 Birthday Honours for her services to drama and charity! Keira was born in London to actors Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald and began her career at the tender age of six, appearing in commercials and television films. Little did anyone know that this young starlet would one day be recognized for her iconic roles in science fiction blockbusters like Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and the beloved sports film Bend It Like Beckham. Of course, who could forget her incredible performance as Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise? It was her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice that earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress at the ripe age of 20. Since then, she has gone on to star in many more period pieces and contemporary dramas alike, including the critically acclaimed Colette (2018). Knightley has also graced the stage in The Misanthrope and The Children's Hour, earning her an Olivier Award nomination for the former. In addition to her acting career, Keira is a vocal advocate for many social causes and has worked with Amnesty International, Oxfam, and Comic Relief. She is now happily married to musician James Righton and the two have two beautiful daughters. Keira Knightley has truly achieved a lot in her career, and she isn't done yet! As she often says, "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." What a joke!
