Kevin McNally
Kevin McNally is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated and beloved British actors of all time. Since making his debut in 1977 with the James Bond adventure The Spy Who Loved Me, Kevin has gone on to become a household name appearing in countless movies, television shows, and stage plays.
Growing up in Birmingham, Kevin had an early interest in the performing arts. At the age of 16, he got his first job at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and a year later he received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he won the Best Actor Bancroft Gold Medal. His career on television ascended after his work in Masada (1981) and in the cult TV series Doctor Who: The Twin Dilemma (1984). He has played a variety of leading and supporting characters in a range of popular productions throughout the years.
But, it was Kevin's portrayal of the lovable and comical pirate, Joshamee Gibbs in the blockbuster franchise Pirates of the Caribbean, that catapulted him to international fame. He has appeared in the first three installments of the series, and the role of Gibbs has become arguably his most iconic performance to date. As a fun fact, Kevin is actually a distant relative of the infamous pirate Blackbeard!
He has also enjoyed a happy family life with Scottish actress Phyllis Logan and his two children. In his spare time, Kevin loves to garden, with his favorite pastime being to 'weed out' the bad jokes! He resides with his family in Chiswick, London, England and continues to bring joy to audiences everywhere.
