Laura Dern
Laura Elizabeth Dern is an actress and filmmaker who has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. From her breakout roles in 'Mask' (1985) and David Lynch's 'Blue Velvet' (1986) to her more recent performances in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' (2017) and 'Marriage Story' (2019), Dern has dazzled and delighted audiences throughout her career.
Her latest role as Renata Klein in 'Big Little Lies' (2017) earned her a Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award, as well as two Academy Award nominations for 'Wild' (2014) and 'Marriage Story' (2019). Dern eventually won the Academy Award for her performance in 'Marriage Story', making her the first woman to win both an Emmy, Golden Globe, and an Academy Award for the same role.
Dern's success is no surprise given her Hollywood pedigree — she's the daughter of actors Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd. Her acting career began in the 1980s, and she's since gone on to star in iconic films like 'Jurassic Park' (1993) and its sequel, 'Jurassic Park III' (2001).
As if that weren't enough, Dern has also earned a reputation as a master of the one-liner. Just ask anyone who's seen 'Wild at Heart' (1990) — they'll tell you that she's a master of comedic timing!
