Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio is a legendary actor and producer with a career spanning over three decades. An Academy Award, British Academy Film Award, and three Golden Globe Award winner, DiCaprio has achieved international stardom and critical acclaim for his mesmerizing performances in biopics, period films, and other genres. His films have grossed an astounding $7.2 billion worldwide and he has been featured in Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. DiCaprio began his career in the late 1980’s appearing in television commercials and had recurring roles in various television shows such as the sitcom Parenthood. His first major film role was as author Tobias Wolff in This Boy's Life (1993) and he received his first Academy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations for his performance as a developmentally disabled boy in What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993). His star-crossed romance in Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Titanic (1997) made him a household name and the latter became the highest-grossing film at the time. In an attempt to shed his image of a romantic hero, DiCaprio sought roles in other genres, including crime drama in Catch Me If You Can (2002) and Gangs of New York (2002). His highly acclaimed roles in The Aviator (2004), Blood Diamond (2006), The Departed (2006), and Revolutionary Road (2008) cemented his place in Hollywood. In recent years, DiCaprio’s starring roles in Inception (2010), Django Unchained (2012), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), The Revenant (2015), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) have proven that he is still one of the most talented actors in the world. Did we mention that he is also an environmentalist and philanthropist? Oh, and one last fun fact: DiCaprio wasn’t born with his iconic name, it was originally 'Leonardo DiCaprio-Man' – luckily his parents thought better of it!
