Paul Sorvino
Paul Anthony Sorvino was an American actor, opera singer, businessman, writer, and sculptor like no other. Born on April 13, 1939, he was an absolute legend in the entertainment industry who could easily portray authority figures on either side of the law with great skill and finesse. He was most widely known for his captivating roles as Paulie Cicero, based on Paul Vario, in the iconic 1990 gangster film Goodfellas, and NYPD Sergeant Phil Cerreta on the long-running TV series Law & Order. Other notable roles included his performances in A Touch of Class, Reds, The Rocketeer, Nixon, and Romeo + Juliet.
Sorvino was an incredibly talented individual whose legacy lives on through his two children, actors Mira Sorvino and Michael Sorvino. Despite his enormous success, Sorvino always kept his feet firmly planted on the ground. His humble attitude and witty sense of humor were some of his greatest qualities, and he often joked that if he ever received an honorary Oscar, he'd use it as a doorstop.
