Robert De Niro
Robert De Niro is an absolute legend in the entertainment industry - and for good reason! His nine collaborations with renowned director Martin Scorsese have earned him two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. Not to mention, he was also awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom from U.S. President Barack Obama in 2016.
The New York City native has starred in some of the most iconic films of all time, including Greetings (1968), Mean Streets (1973), The Godfather Part II (1974), Taxi Driver (1976), The Deer Hunter (1978), Raging Bull (1980), The King of Comedy (1982), 1900 (1976), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Brazil (1985), The Mission (1986), Midnight Run (1988), Goodfellas (1990), Awakenings (1990), Cape Fear (1991), This Boy's Life (1993), Heat (1995), and Casino (1995).
De Niro has also had a successful career in comedy, with roles in films such as Wag the Dog (1997), Analyze This (1999), and Meet the Parents (2000). He earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in David O. Russell's 2012 romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook. Most recently, he has been seen in The Wizard of Lies (2017) and the psychological thriller Joker (2019).
His impressive career has earned him a spot in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". He has also co-founded the film and television production company TriBeCa Productions, alongside producer Jane Rosenthal, as well as the Tribeca Film Festival.
De Niro's career continues to be as successful as ever, and his films just as memorable - and let's not forget, he's pretty funny too! After all, as the saying goes, you can't spell 'legend' without 'De Niro' (get it?).
