Tony Leung Chiu-wai
Tony Leung Chiu-wai is a star like no other! This Hong Kong actor and singer, who was born on 27 June 1962, has been gracing the international stage with his talents since the 1980s. He has won awards, broken records, and been named "Small Tiger" among the Five Tiger Generals of TVB. He is widely renowned as the best native Hong Kong actor of his generation and was even included in CNN's "Asia's 25 Greatest Actors of All Time" list.
Leung is widely known for his collaborations with director Wong Kar-wai, in films such as Chungking Express, Happy Together, In the Mood for Love, and The Grandmaster. He has also appeared in three Venice Film Festival Golden Lion-winning films and the Academy Award-nominated film Hero, as well as box office hits like Hard Boiled and Infernal Affairs. And if that wasn't enough, Leung also recently signed on to star as the Mandarin in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
As for awards, Leung has a comprehensive set of them! He earned the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in In the Mood for Love and is a seven-time winner at the Hong Kong Film Awards and three-time winner at the Golden Horse Film Awards, making him the record holder for most awards in the Best Actor category. He truly is a star like no other! But don't take our word for it - just ask Tony Leung Chiu-wai himself! As he'd probably say: "I'm not just an actor - I'm a star!" (Plus, I'm really good at making puns!)
