Vera Miles is a Rochester, New York-born actress who has graced the silver screen and small-screen alike for over six decades. After studying at Pratt Institute in Kansas and Wichita State University, Vera quickly found success on the big screen with roles in landmark films like The Searchers (1956) and The Wrong Man (1956) alongside icons like Henry Fonda and John Wayne. Hitchcock quickly signed her to a personal contract, casting her in iconic roles like Judy Barton in Vertigo (1958) and Christine in Psycho (1960). Vera also starred in such movies as Beau James (1957), The FBI Story (1959), Back Street (1961), Sergeant Ryker (1968) and John Gavin's The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962). Her career continued on television with appearances in classics like The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962), Twilight Zone (1959), The Outer Limits (1963), The Fugitive (1963), My Three Sons (1960), Bonanza (1959), "Columbo" and Murder, She Wrote (1984). Vera retired from acting in 1995, but will always be remembered for her mesmerizing performances in some of the greatest films and television shows of all time.
